The hotel Hirschen offers you 15 individually furnished guest rooms with art, design and antiques and free WLAN in all areas of the hotel. Besides there is a high class restaurant for fine dining that gives you a nice variation of regional specialities accompanied by a good glass of wine out of Mr. Fetz's large and special wine cellar. Wednesday and Thursday the a la carte restaurant is closed, but hotel guests are spoiled with a small choice of regional specialities. The wooden made "Walderhaus", a dependence located just behind the hotel offers another 18 comfortable and quiet rooms and appartements, fitness facilities, a garage and special spaces for meetings and conferences. Also the nice garden in between is loved by our guests as relaxing area. The Hotel Gasthof Hirschen is situated in the heart of a picturesque valley in western Austria at the border line to Switzerland between the Arlberg and the lake of Constance called Bregenzerwald. This mountain area offers green untouched nature and invites you to relax, breath fresh air and explore hiking, walking, running or biking. The charming village itself - Schwarzenberg - is classified as a historical precinet and is recommended as one of the most attractive villages in Austria. The closest city is Dornbirn, about 15 km away, Bregenz, at the shore of the lake of Constance, with its famous performances during the Bregenz festival right on the lake is close. The well known Arlberg skiing area is in about 45 minutes available by car. Closer skiing areas are Mellau-Damuls and Bodele - Hochalpele, from where you can ski right down to the hotel if there is enough snow. Constructed in 1757 in wooden baroque style the Gasthof Hirschen has been owned by the same family for 8 generations and has given hospitality to many visitors, celebrities (King Maximilian II. of Bavaria stayed here in 1855) and artists for more than 2 centuries.
